Bathroom Remodel

We finally finished remodeling our bathroom! I'm not great at remembering to take "before" pictures but let me tell you our bathroom definitely needed a change.  In the beginning, the house inspector didn't even know what material was used in the shower.  The tub was so old and worn that it didn't matter how hard you cleaned it, it always looked dirty. It was like there was no finish left on it.  There were dings in the tub and places where you could tell the previous owner tried to cover the dings with paint.

We gutted the area to the studs around the bath area and took the tub out.  We replaced the tub, put new drywall up and put a new surround up.  Ben also put new shower parts in. The previous shower head was just one of those attachments with the hose connected to the faucet area.  Ben put the shower plumbing in the walls and we got rid of the attachment. Thank goodness!

I painted the walls a nice, bright gray.  I've actually painted all the walls in the house again and decided to go with the same color throughout.  This color really opens up the room.

Ben got this small shelf, brand new in the box from the free shelf at work.  Love that thing!  The shelf gave me a chance to add some more color to the room.  I got a cool grass fake plant from IKEA.

While I was at IKEA, I picked up an "as is" cabinet door and used it to make a towel holder.  I used a staple gun to attach the fabric and put some vinyl on top of the glass.

I think it turned out great!

Now for the next bathroom!  I've got to give Ben a little break-he deserves it! Not too long of a break though. . .
