Update

At exactly 7:05 p.m. last night, the new word was changed to "fruit snack" by Mia while on the toliet. She yelled, "The new word is fruit snack!" and continued with, "I'm fruit snacking everyone!" I'll keep you updated if the new word changes again. You wouldn't want to be left out of the loop.

Hamburger

I don't know about you, but all of my kids have gone through the phase where saying "poop" is really cool. I remember when Mia and her cousin Addie would use the word all the time. They would stick it at the end of a word and it would be the funniest thing ever.

Mia: What's your name?
Addie: Addie. . .poop.
(Tons of giggles and laughter)

Xander says the word "poop" or "poopy" all of the time. He tells me I'm "poopy". He'll come up to me and take a big whiff by me and declare "You're poopy". Frankly, I am tired of the word at the dinner table and of hearing it all day.

Mia's been excited that the "poopy" days are here again and has started saying it again. I told Mia the other day to stop saying the word “poop” and that the new word was “hamburger”. Mia told me today that Dylan at school said “poop” and she told a girlfriend that the new word was “hamburger” and that her mom was tired of the words “poop” and “pee”.

So everyone out there, the new word is "hamburger".

Big Mama!

Introducing. . .Big Mama. She's bigger, she's better, and she's more expensive. I bought a Canon 5D with the money I have been earning from taking pictures. I'm SOOOOO excited! Now, all I need to do is save money so I can buy some wicked lenses.

Little Sister will not be forgotten. She may be smaller, but we've had some really good times together and I'll still be using her from time to time.

Now. . .if I could only tell the weather to stop raining.

Had a Bad Day?

Ben and I decided that for Val-Day each year, we would make each other something especially since our anniversary is just a couple weeks before. I wanted to make an awesome gift this year and had some inspiration early. . .

I thought I could make something like this. . .

and I would try to make the gingerbread house look like Carl's house from "Up". I would even hook real helium balloons to the house. I thought it would be so cool to sneak his present into his office at Pixar. As he would be returning to his office, he would see a huge bunch of balloons peaking up from the walls and be so excited and surprised. . .

To make a long story short. . .
busy and exhausting week
days of work making patterns and gingerbread
fighting kids
kicking and screaming Xander at the store
frosting didn't work
losing control. . .

This is what it looked like. . .

Until I went crazy. . .

Luckily, Ben still loves me and made me breakfast in bed on Valentine's Day and gave me cute "Honey Do" checks.

After CJ witnessed her mom going insane, she told me calmly after I demolished the house with beaters, that "You should have kept trying" and went to her room to make Ben a house out of paper.

Man, I love my family!

If I were a cartoon. . .

I would be Master Shifu from "Kung Fu Panda". Ever since we have watched that movie, Mia will put her hands together, bow, and say, "Master Shifu" to me. Mia is our little movie quoter and can be heard throughout the day saying, "I don't know, something amazing, I guess", "Are we there yet? We'll get there when we get there" and "I'll be in my room" (from Pajama Gladiator). She also knows that I'm the "Master" of the house.

I remember when running was becoming boring to me that I thought, "Hey, maybe I should take a class of some kind instead." The first thing that popped into my mind was, "Kung Fu". I said to Ben, "What if I'm really good at Kung Fu and it is one of my hidden talents?" I really think it is. One day, I'll have to find out for sure.

The last reason I think "Master Shifu" is a good cartoon character for me is that, in the past, I have a 100% track record for guessing what we are having. You could say, I was the "Master Guesser". Today my perfect track record becomes 67% because I was so sure I was having a boy and at my ultrasound, they told me it was a girl. Even the real Master Shifu made mistakes. He didn't think that the Po the panda was the chosen one, when in fact, he was.

So everyone who voted for "girl" you were right! And for those who voted for alien, "What were you thinking?" J.K. Mia voted once for alien. I don't know who the other one was. By the way, my choices for the poll were inspired by a jumping roping chant from one of my former 1st graders. I don't know how the whole thing goes, but the last part goes something like this, "What kind of baby will she have, boy, girl, twin or alien and then repeats, boy, girl, twin or alien." Thanks Eliza for the inspiration!

We're excited to have another little girl.

If my family were cartoons. . .

Ben would be "Handy Manny". Our dryer just stopped working the other day and I seriously thought we would have to buy a new one. Ben researched on the internet and was able to figure out what the problem was and fixed it! He has a great talent for figuring things out . I am so lucky to have him.

Mia would be "Barbie Princess". Mia loves anything and everything about princesses these days. She loves the movie Princess Diaries because there is a Princess Mia. She likes to dress up as one and would wear "beautiful" shoes all day if she could.

I had a hard time thinking of a cartoon character for CJ because lately she is into "Hannah Montana" or "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" and she has a secret crush on one of the Jonas brothers. I guess Curious George fits her just as well because she is always curious about what is going on with everyone.

I chose "Caillou" because he and Xander have a couple things in common. Xander used to be bald for the longest time and Caillou, even though is supposed to be four on the show, talks just like a two year old.
