Drastic Measures

I guess Zoey wanted to be a July baby. . . At this point, I'm feeling more disappointed and depressed just waiting and waiting and waiting. My doctor in Utah would not have let me go this far. Whatever. I can't do anything about my doctor but I've decided to take matters into my own hands.

Today, I'm taking drastic measures. So I am looking for any ideas to get me into labor! I don't think I will do the castrol oil, yet. That really grosses me out just thinking about it.

Any other ideas, lay it on me! I'll even keep you posted after I try each one.

It only takes 1 TBLS of castor oil...mix it with orange juice and you're done! (Of course, this is all second hand information...never tried it myself)

the doctor uses a crochet hook to break the bag of waters. Maybe ben can practice his hand at this. When the waters start flowin the hippy will start goin. I mean delivering but it didn't rhyme.

I would advise against trying to break your water yourself. new studies show that there is a new hormone when your baby's lungs are ready and that is what starts labor. Wait it out. and when you can't wait anymore, go for a LONG walk. p.s. my sister in law did castor oil, and it didn't help. she still didn't go into labor for another week.

just in case it wasn't clear, I was being sarcastic about breaking your own water.

Great! Now you tell me Joe! Someone get a mop over here! Actually, I've heard that Bungi Jumping works great. Short labor too.

Is there a mountain trail nearby? Hike up it...and then back down. We did this as a family outing last summer and I went into labor about 5 hours later. Something about the downhill really felt like it would be effective. Good luck!

Don't worry Joe, I don't take anything you say seriously.

Supposedly the magic words are, "Doctor I am having a lot of physical discomfort and pain"
